The foundation was launched on the 16th October 2017 at Phwamphwa Primary School
. We first met with the Head Teacher to find out the needs of the school as we intend adopting it into the future to assist in the education of the needy and deserving students. We were advised that immediate needs included:
- Addressing issues of orphans and vulnerable children by supplying them with school uniforms, exercise books, pens and pencils; and
- A battery, solar panel and bulbs to assist in the intake of boarding accommodation especially for Standard 8 pupils to enable the adequate preparation for end of year examinations. Once boarding facilities are provided the learners can have all the time to learn and be alleviated from household chores at home, enabling time to study at night.
We duly engaged service providers to acquire the above items. A list of 39 orphans was given to us, forming the first recipients of school uniforms, exercise books, pens and pencils. A solar system (panel, battery and bulbs) was also procured and handed over.
